Like in any other country, in Armenia students need social support.
So Armenia’s Ministry of Education and Science placed an order for a survey to find out students’ need for social support.
The Institute for Political and Sociological Consulting (IPSC) conducted the survey, Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan told reporters on Friday.
“The government must make more efforts to relieve students’ social burden,” he said.
Samvel Manukyan of the IPSC presented the survey results and noted that 34,686 of 53,808 students pay tuition fees in Armenia. Also, 17,207 students need discounts.
“Effective support is providing 3,378 students with rooms in residence halls, which is an equivalent to AMD 2.8 million financial aid,” Ashotyan said.
